The story was about an astronaut Mark Watney, who left behind on Mars when a storm separates him from his crewmates and he is presumed dead. Knowing that the next planned mission is years away, and without a way to communicate that he's still alive, Martian has to find a way to make sure the supply of food, water, and air to survive in the long term.
There's a scene in the movie in which a tarp blows in and out with the movement of the storm to indicate how easily broken Martian's habitat has become. That couldn't happen on real life Mars. The planet has giant sand storm, but the atmosphere is too thin and the pressure is too low to make the satellite lose their support structures and into the crew members.
Radiation is a serious problem for Martian mission. Once astronauts leave Earth's magnetic field, they risk receiving large amount of radiation from solar flares and cosmic rays. 'I think'. Hehe.
Radiation remains a problem for a Martian crew when it arrives on the surfaces of Mars. That's because the planet's magnetic field is too weak to act as a shield against solar and cosmic radiation. That's why some design for Martian habitats suggest covering dwellings with dirt or tunnel into the side of a hill.
By the way, Matt Damon isa great actor as a Martian, and he succesfully captures how lonely and isolated such a person would feel and how determined he would be to survive. I'm already fall in love with him. 😚😚
